Liloan

Liloan or Lilo-an is a 2nd class municipality in the province of Cebu. It lies in the eastern coast of the island, facing the Camotes Sea. It is bounded by the Municipality of Compostela in the north and northeast and Municipality of Consolacion in the south and southwest.

The municipality is part of the metropolitan area, commonly called Metro Cebu. Metro Cebu composed of 6 municipalities and three cities. It is situated with a distance of 19 kilometers from Cebu City.




Lapu-Lapu City

Lapu-Lapu City is a first-class and a highly-urbanized city in Cebu province. The city is located in Mactan Island, a few kilometers away from the mainland Cebu. It occupies almost all the Mactan Island, leaving a small portion for the Municipality of Cordova. It also occupies the Olango Group of Islands and other small islands.




Daanbantayan Attractions

Daanbantayan is dubbed as the “tourist haven in the north”. Mostly coastal, it boasts only the best of what the nature has to offer. Daanbantayan is a 1st class municipality of Cebu province as of December 3, 2008. It is situated in the northern-most tip of Cebu Island, approximately 128 kilometers from the Cebu Provincial Capitol.

Under its jurisdiction is the total land area of 10,455 hectares with 20 barangays: 2 islands, 13 are coastal barangays and 5 inland barangays. Alphabetically stated, these barangays are Agujo, Bagay, Bakhawan, Bateria, Bitoon, Calape, Carnaza Island, Dalingding, Lanao, Logon (Malapascua), Malbago, Malingin, Maya, Pajo, Paypay, Poblacion, Talisay, Tapilon, Tinubdan and Tominjao.




Santander

Santander is a fifth-class municipality of Cebu Province. It is located in the southernmost tip of Cebu Island, for about 134.14 kilometers away from Cebu City. The Tañon Strait can be seen in the east while the Cebu Strait at the west. It is the town next to Oslob.




Moalboal Attractions

Moalboal is proud to be the Diving Capital in Cebu because of its marine sanctuaries where tons of corals in different shapes, sizes and colors can be seen. Also, fishes in wide variety including rare tropical fishes and some sharks can be found only here.

The municipality depends so much on the income generated by tourism so the government is exerting much effort in boosting the industry in the town. In expressing their gratitude to the abundance of marine floras and faunas, the town has come up with the celebration known as the “Kagasangan Festival”.




Oslob Attractions

Oslob has its share of unique attractions, natural or man-made. Its clean waters and fascinating underwater paradise makes Oslob a perfect place for get-away for those who are looking for something daring or for those who wants to visit the traces of its past glory.

As Argao is known for its torta, Carcar for its chicharon and ampao and Talisay for its lechon, Oslob is also proud of its delicacies such as tostado, rosquillos and podrida, a tasty delicacy that has a resemblance of a flower but with a coconut in the center.




Argao Attractions

In this peaceful town of Cebu, about 66 kilometers away from the main city, one finds the real taste of adventure. It has waterfalls, caves and mountains as well as historical heritages, evidenced by the Spanish and American influences. Mt. Lantoy

For visitors who are thrill-seeking, a trip to Argao must be included in the itinerary. One of the best things to be done in Cebu is to visit the mystical Mount Lantoy.

Mt. Lantoy is located in the municipality of Argao, Cebu, particularly in the barangay Conalum about 100 kilometers away from the coastal area. It is elevated from the ground up to 1,945 feet or 593 meters. It is Argao’s highest peak.




Boljoon

Boljoon is a 5th class municipality in the province of Cebu. It is part of the southern Cebu, bordered by the town of Alcoy in the north, Oslob in the south, Malabuyoc in the west and Bohol Strait in the east.

The town has a land mass of 11,500 hectares, subdivided into 11 barangays. These barangays are the Poblacion, El Pardo, Baclayan, Arbor, Granada, South Granada, Lower Becerril, Upper Becerril, San Antonio, Lunop and Nangka. Six of these barangays which includes Poblacion are located along the coast while the others are upland barangays.




Oslob

Oslob is a fourth class municipality in the province of Cebu. It is located 117 kilometers southeast of Cebu City. It is one of the summer destinations because of its protected marine sanctuary and other historical displays.

The municipality is situated before Santander, the southeastern tip of the province, faces the Bohol strait in the east, bordered by the Municipality of Ginatilan in the west and the Municipality of Boljoon in the north.




Argao

Argao is a first-class municipality of Cebu province. It is located in the southeastern part of Cebu, approximately 66 kilometers from the main city and part of the second district of the province.

The municipality of Argao faces the Bohol Strait, bordered by the municipality of Sibonga on the north, the municipality of Dalaguete on the south and the municipalities of Dumanjug, Ronda, Alcantara, Moalboal and Bandian by its west. It is the midpoint of Cebu City to the Santander, the southernmost tip of the island.




Santo Niño de Cebu

Santo Niño de Cebú is a Roman Catholic image of the Child Jesus. For centuries, Santo Niño served as Cebu’s patron. Regarded as deity, the statuette was cloth in kingly robes, completed with precious stones and other gold ornaments including the crown.

The figurine is considered as the oldest and most revered religious relic in the Philippines. It took its sanctuary in the Basilica Minore del Santo Niño, one of the oldest churches in the country.




Mantawi Festival

Mantawi Festival is an annual celebration held in Mandaue City, Cebu, Philippines every May 7 in cognizance of the feast day of the city’s patron saint, Saint Joseph. This festival is an event to look forward for, especially for the Mandauehanons.

The festival was conceptualized to commemorate Mandaue’s glorious past as it acknowledges Mandaue now as a ”highly urbanized industrial center” with more than 10,000 commercial and industrial establishments that progress each year.




Magellan's Cross

Magellan’s Cross is a wooden cross erected as ordered by the Portuguese navigator and explorer who discovered Cebu, Ferdinand Magellan. The cross proudly represents Cebu and became a symbol of the Catholicism of the entire country.

The cross can be found in the very center inside the small chapel outside the Basilica Minore del Santo Nino. Both the church and the chapel are located in the Magallanes Street (which is the Spanish translation of Magellan), fronting the Cebu City Hall.




Fuente Osmeña

Cebu has its share of glorious history that has to be retained in the memories of the living. Different landmarks such as statues, monuments, effigies etc. are erected in honor of the important persons who contributed a lot for the welfare of others and for the entire country.

One of the most famous and the oldest landmarks in Cebu is the ”Fuente de Osmeña” or ”Fuente Osmeña”. It is one busy spot in Cebu and has become a centerpiece landmark in Cebu City.
