The beach is actually a lagoon and across is the Mabad-on Reef, which completely disappears when the tide is high and shows up only when the tide recedes. It is separated by a narrow channel from the mainland.
Due to the arching structure of a lagoon, the sand of the southernmost end would shift to the north due to the northeast winter monsoon from late September to early December exposing completely the rocky bed of shore. The sand would return to its normal position starting late December.
The presence of Mabad-on Reef makes diving activities more exciting because of its brimming marine ecosystem. Needless to say, the various species of flora and fauna are treats not just to the eyes but the entire senses.

How To Get There:
In going to the town of Alcoy, you can either drive you own car or take a ride by a bus or van from Cebu City South Bus Terminal. The travel time will consume few hours only. Once you arrive in Alcoy, tricycles or habal-habal are the available modes of transport and ask the driver take you there. Agreement should be made beforehand to avoid further misunderstanding.
